The Stem Cell Research Center hosts more than 40 faculty members in the following areas of focus:
bone and cartilage repair
muscle and nerve injuries
hematopoiesis and vasculogenesis
stem cell identification and characterization
Research is supported by core facilities for:
production and expansion of stem cells isolated from skeletal muscle and other tissues
engineering new viral and non-viral vectors
bioreactors for cell culture
cytogenics, histology, and immunogenetics
biomechanics and muscle physiology
cell sorting by flow cytometry
