Dr. Mike Modo is an associate professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to this he was the senior lecturer at the Centre for the Cellular Basis of Behaviour at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London.
Dr. Modo earned his Bachelor of Science (with honours) in Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London. He then achieved first his Masters followed by his PhD in Neurosciences from King’s College London.
Dr. Modo’s research interests include:
- neuroimaging, including MRI and molecular and cellular MRI;
- stem cell therapy, such as neural stem cells, stem cell repair, stem cell differentiation, immunological aspects of cell therapy;
- behavioral assessment;
- histology; and
- disease Models, including stroke, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s.
He currently serves on the editorial boards of Neuroscience Imaging, Current Stem Cell Research and Therapy, BMC Neuroscience, The Open Magnetic Resonance Journal, and World Stem Cell Journal.
