Dr. Zhou is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Information Management of the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Zhou earned his undergraduate degree in Physics from Nankai University in Tianjin, China. He received the University Fellowship from George Washington University, where he earned his Master’s in Computer Science, his PhD in Physics, and his Doctorate in Computer Science. Dr. Zhou’s research interests include mathematical modeling, algorithm development, sequence alignment, high performance computing, and data mining.
Dr. Zhou is a member of the International Society for Computational Biology, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He served on the program committee for the 2008 International Symposium on Bioinformatics Research and Applications.
