Ruben Zamora, Ph.D.

Dr. Ruben Zamora is presently a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Surgery. He received his M.S in radiochemistry at the University of Veszprem in Veszprem, Hungary and he also received his Ph.D at the University of Antwerp (Antwerp, Belgium) in Pharmacology and Cell Biology. Dr. Zamora was previously the Director of the Laboratory of Pediatric Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

From 1992 to 1994 he was a Visiting Scientist in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Schwarz Pharma A.G., Monheim in Germany and from 1990 to 1992 Dr. Zamora was a Junior Researcher at the Center for Pharmaceutical Chemistry in Havana, Cuba. Dr. Zamora is currently a member of several Professional Activities which include; Nitric Oxide Society, Animal Research and Care Committee (ARCC) of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the Surgical Infection Society (SIS). And since August of 2005, Dr. Zamora has been a member of the Editorial Board World Journal of Gastroenterology. And he has been a reviewer for the British Journal of Pharmacology, the Journal of Hepatology and Atherosclerosis.
