Ora Weisz, Ph.D., joined the University of Pittsburgh faculty in 1995 as an Assistant Professor within the School of Medicine. She holds a B.S. (Cum Laude) in Molecular Biophys/Biochem History from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, and received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology in 1990 from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Currently, Dr. Weisz is an Associate Professor within the Renal-Electrolyte Division of the Department of Medicine and Department of Cell Biology and Physiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Prior to arriving at the university, Dr. Weisz was a postdoctoral Fellow within the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. From 1984-1990 she also served as a graduate student in the Graduate Program in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology through the Department of Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Throughout her career, she has been an editor for several scientific journals and has been personally featured in several publications for her research efforts.
