Newell R. Washburn , Ph.D.
Dr. Newell Washburn is a faculty member of the McGowan Institute
for Regenerative Medicine which he is involved with coordinating
the MIRM Biomaterial Group Meetings. He is also an Assistant
Professor, in the Department of Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering
at Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Washburn received his Ph.
D from the University of California, Berkeley in Chemistry.
He has also held several other positions which include;
Leader and also a Research Chemist of the Biomaterials Group,
Polymers Division at the National Institute of Standards
and Technology and an Adjunct Professor, in the Graduate
Program in Biotechnology at Johns Hopkins University. Dr.
Washburn was also a Teaching Assistant and a Senior Teaching
Assistant at University of California, Berkeley in the Honors
General Chemistry
