David Schwartzman, M.D.
Dr Schwartzman is an Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and affiliated with Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Presbyterian Hospital. He received both his B.S. and M.D. degrees from New York University, New York, NY, in 1981 and 1985 respectively. After completing his internship in internal medicine in 1986, he remained at New York University and Bellevue Hospitals, New York, NY, to complete a one year residency in 1988, and his chief residency in 1989. His fellowships in General Cardiology (1989-1990) and Interventional Cardiology (1991) were also served through New York University. Dr. Schwartzman completed his academic pursuits with fellowships in Clinical Electrophysiology (1992) and Electrophysiology Research (1993) at the University of Pennsylvania.
Clinically, Dr. Schwartzman specializes primarily in internal medicine. However, he is also certified as, and specializes in, Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Schwartzman is also actively involved in research efforts at the university. Currently, Dr. Schwartzman's research interests center on management of atrial arrhythmias, principally non-pharmacologic modalities.
