Dr. Clark Rosen is the Director of the University of Pittsburgh Voice Center and Associate Professor of Otolaryngology at the School of Medicine. He graduated with a B.A in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1984, and received his M.D. from Rush Medical College in Chicago. Dr. Rosen received his otolaryngology training at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon, and completed a fellowship in laryngology and care of the professional voice at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, and the University of Tennessee Voice Institute. In 1995, Dr. Rosen was recruited from his position as a Clinical Instructor-Fellow at the University of Tennessee, to join the University faculty.
Dr. Rosen remains professionally active through membership in a variety of professional and scientific societies. Present memberships include the American Medical Association, American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Through his dedication to his field, Dr. Robbins has been featured in several publications and has been the recipient of multiple awards. In 1995, he was chosen as an Honors Award recipient of the American Laryngologic Association. Most recently, he was an Honor Award Recipient of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in September of 2000.
In addition to both his academic and professionally involvement, Dr. Rosen is also active in research efforts at the university. As a board-certified otolaryngologist, he specializes in the care of the performing voice and the treatment and research of voice disorders. Currently, Dr. Rosen is involved in a variety of research projects, concentrating his efforts within the following areas:
- Laryngeal Papilloma Disease
- Rehabilitation of the Scarred Vocal Fold
- Biomechanical Properties of Phonosurgery Materials
- Electronic Medical Records
