Ellen S. Gawalt, Ph.D.
Dr. Gawalt is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Duquesne University and has an affiliation with the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. She currently holds two other positions in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Duquesne University which include; Chair of the Graduate Admissions and Recruitment, a member of the NSF-REU Advisory Board.
She is also a member of the Women on Science Advisor in the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Science and an Ad-hoc peer reviewer for the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Langmuir, Biomacromolecules for the American Chemical Society in Washington, D.C., a Reviewer for the NSF Surface and Analytical Chemistry Division Ad-hoc Grant and the a member of the American Chemical Society.
She has taught a number of classes at Duquesne University that consisted of; Honors General Chemistry I, II, and III, Scientific Presentation, Integrated Laboratory and Special Topics in Materials Characterization. Dr. Gawalt worked with quite a few Graduate Students and Undergraduate Students at Duquesne University addition to being involved in several Student Committees. She has written several publications as well.
