Dr. Russell Delude holds several positions at University of Pittsburgh, they include; Graduate Teaching Faculty member, Assistant Professor of Pathology, Assistant Professor of Critical Care Medicine, Associate Faculty member of the CRISMA Laboratories and Associate Professor of Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Delude receive his Ph.D at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Dr. Russell Delude was previously an Instructor in Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. He was also a Staff member in the Department of Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center also in Boston, MA.
Dr. Delude had other previous positions at the University of Pittsburgh which included; Visiting Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, and a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology. His current research studies consist of; Understand the molecular pathogenesis of septic and hemorrhagic shock by studying Molecular mechanisms of organ dysfunction and studying cell culture models of epithelial, Identification of substances in serum of septic patients and animals that are harmful to epithelial cells, Study protein S-nitrosylation as a mechanism of epithelial dysfunction and receptor for advanced glycation end products.
Since 2003, Dr. Delude has been a member of the Department of Critical Care Medicine Scientific Affairs Committee.
