Dr. Curt DeGroff currently holds three positions which include; Associate Professor of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Pittsburgh, Director of Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and Interim Technical Director of the Echo Laboratory in the Heart Center. Dr. DeGroff received his M.S degree Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology and then went on to receive his M.D from SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn.
Dr. DeGroff is presently the member of the Fellow American College of Cardiology-American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Heart Association CV Disease in the Young, the American Society of Echocardiography/Pediatric and the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society.
Dr. Curt DeGroff previously was an Instructor in Pediatric Cardiology at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh and was also an Assistant and Associate Professor in Pediatric Cardiology at Children's Hospital. Also was the Director of the Fetal Cardiac Program, Interim Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory, a Member of Cardiovascular Flow Research Lab, a Member of the Microelectronic Devices on the Cardiovascular Applications Center and a Member of the Intellectual Property Committee.
His current research interests include:
- Clinical research interests include general pediatric cardiology, pediatric echocardiography, fetal echocardiography.
- Research interests include using computational fluid dynamics in congenital and acquired heart disease; and digital signal analysis and artificial neural networks to improve therapeutic and diagnostic techniques in pediatric cardiology.
