Dr. William Chung is an Associate Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Dental Medicine, University of Pittsburgh. He is also a Staff Surgeon with University Dental Health Services, UPMC, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, and Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. In addition, he is an Adjunct Clinical Faculty Member of the Department of Neurological Surgery, UPMC.
Dr. Chung got his dental degree from Case Western Reserve University and his medical degree from Temple University. He did internships at MetroHealth Medical Center & Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and at MCP-Hahnemann University & Allegheny University Hospital. He completed his residency training from Temple University Hospital.
Dr. Chung is a Faculty Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the Western Pennsylvania Society of Oral & Maxillofacial, and the Pennsylvania Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also Board Certified in the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a faculty member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honors Society, Beta Chapter, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry. Dr. Chung is also active in the community, acting as a regular volunteer speaker for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the District Attorney's office of Lawrence County, PA Adopt-A-School Program, and Lawrence County, PA Youth Development Center, where he lectures troubled youths throughout Pennsylvania regarding dangers of alcohol and drugs.
Dr. Chung's clinical and research areas of interest include Temporomandibular Joint Disorders and Ambulatory Anesthesia.
