David G. Baer, Ph.D
Dr. David Baer is an affiliate member of the McGowan Institute and holds the position of research physiologist at the US Army Institute of Surgical Research (ISR) in Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. He is also the director of the Office of Research for the US Army ISR, and in the past, has held the position of Bone and Soft Tissue Trauma Program area manager for the Army.
Dr. Baer attended Trinity University in San Antonio where he earned a BS in Biology. Following graduation, he attended the University of Hawaii for his PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology.
Research projects currently headed by Dr. Baer include the Combat Wound Antisepsis Program, which develops and tests dressings and treatments for the protection of combat wounds and wound infection.
In 2005, Dr. Baer was selected for the US/UK Exchange of Early Career Scientists (EXECS). He has authored a number of publications.
