William Deaton Anderson, M.D.
Dr. William D. Anderson is director of the Interventional Cardiology Division at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and also an assistant professor of Medicine at the Cardiovascular Institute.  In the cardiac catheterization laboratories, he oversees the delivery of interventional cardiac, coronary and peripheral vascular services.  His clinical interest is in interventional cardiology with a focus on coronary and peripheral vascular intervention, including percutaneous approaches to the treatment of carotid artery disease, lower extremity disease, and renal artery stenosis.

Dr. Anderson did his undergraduate work at Duke University and then went on to obtain his MD from the Duke University School of Medicine in 1988.  As a post-graduate, he studied at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. and then as a fellow at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta.

Dr. Anderson is board certified in internal medicine.  He is also a former Phi Beta Kappa member and was honored as a Harvard University Visiting Fellow in Medicine in 1986.
