Gary An, M.D.
Currently an affiliate faculty member at McGowan Institute, Dr. Gary An resides in Chicago, Ill. where he is an Assistant Professor of Trauma and Critical Care at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. His specialty is trauma surgery. Dr. An received his MD at the University of Miami in Miami, Fla. He was previously an attending burn surgeon/acting director in the Burn Intensive Care Unit at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago, a trauma surgeon/critical care attendee at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill. and also the director of trauma at the Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Ill.Dr. An currently serves on the Surgical Functions Review Committee at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He was a visiting professor from 2004 to 2005, teaching a combined graduate level course at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine and in the Department of Mathematics.
Dr. An also serves as an Editorial Reviewer for the Critical Care Medicine Journal of Theoretical Biology, the American Journal of Physiology, the Journal of Statistical Physics, the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine and the Annals of Biomedical Engineering.
