Dr. Michel Modo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition, he holds secondary appointments in the Department of Bioengineering and the Center for Neural Basis of Cognition. Prior to this he was the Senior Lecturer in Neuroscience at the King’s College London.
Dr. Modo earned his BSc (with honors) in Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London. He then achieved first his MSc followed by his PhD in Neurosciences from King’s College London where he also completed his post-graduate work in Neuroimaging and Education.
Dr. Modo’s research interests include:
stem cell differentiation
implantation of biomaterials
animal models of neurological disease
cellular and molecular imaging
diffusion tensor imaging
chemical exchange saturation transfer contrast agents
He currently serves on the editorial boards of Neuroscience Imaging, Current Stem Cell Research and Therapy, BMC Neuroscience, The Open Magnetic Resonance Journal, World Stem Cell Journal, and more. In 2013, Dr. Modo received the Bernard Sanberg Memorial Award for Brain Repair.
