Dr. Mark A. Wilson is a visiting professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and also holds the position of chief of surgery and medical director of the surgical service in the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. Dr. Wilson received his doctor of medicine degree in 1985 from the New Jersey Medical School and his PhD in physiology and biophysics from the University of Louisville in 1996. Prior to his arrival in Pittsburgh, Dr. Wilson was a faculty member at the University of Louisville.
Dr. Wilson has authored over 60 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals, eight book chapters, and four published review pieces. He is a member of several professional and scientific societies including the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma and the American Heart Association. He is also a fellow in the American College of Surgeons.
