Dr. Hongjiao Ouyang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Molecular and Microbial Genetics, School of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh. She is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Comprehensive Care, Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics, School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Ouyang did her DDS at West China University of Medical Sciences (now Sichuan University) in 1993. In 2000 she earned her PhD in Oral Health Sciences at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where she also earned her clinical certificate from the graduate endodontics program. She then earned her DMD at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2009.
Dr. Ouyang focuses her research on the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying bone development, maintenance, and disease. She is a reviewer for Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, Journal of Archives of Oral Biology, and Journal of Endodontics. In addition, she is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, the International and American Society of Bone and Mineral Tissues Research, and the American Association of Dental Research.
