  • Accommodations for faculty and invited guests are in the Lodge at Nemacolin Woodlands. When you call to make your room reservation, you must identify yourself as part of the McGowan Institute Retreat group to get the contracted rate. The McGowan Institute will assume the charge for your reservation (room rate and taxes only) when you check in at the Retreat, but it is your responsibility to make your room reservation and to guarantee your reservation with your credit card. If you are a no-show, you will not be reimbursed for lodging expenses. Call Nemacolin Woodlands Resort at: (724) 329-8555 or (800) 422-2736. If available, make your reservation directly with Dawn Bodes.

  • Fellows/Residents/Post-Docs/Graduate Students must make hotel reservations through the McGowan Institute. To make your room reservation: please call Jaimie Sullivan at the McGowan Institute by calling (412) 383-9998 or by e-mail at sullivanjl@upmc.edu. DO NOT CALL NEMACOLIN directly.

Accommodations for Fellows, Residents, Post-Doctoral, Graduate Students and Staff are in other facilities at a rate of $55.00 per night per person (plus tax), two or three people per unit. While the Institute accepts suggestions on who shares a room, the final decision of the room occupants is reserved for the Conference Organizer. No guests of Fellows, Residents, Post-Doctoral Trainees, Graduate Students and Staff are permitted without prior written permission of the Conference Organizer.

The McGowan Institute will assume the charge for your reservation (room rate and taxes) when you check in at the Retreat, but it is your responsibility to make your room reservation and to guarantee your reservation with your credit card. If you are a no-show, you will not be reimbursed for lodging expenses.

Reserve soon; rooms will only be held until February 15th, or until the room block is filled.

Important: The Retreat is scheduled to run Sunday evening through Tuesday evening, vs. the prior format of Sunday evening through Wednesday Noon. Full participation in the Retreat is encouraged for faculty and trainees. Given the criticality of Tuesday's events, reimbursement for lodging expenses will be dependent on attendance of the entire meeting (including lodging on Tuesday). If pre-existing plans prevent attendance for the full retreat special arrangements for reimbursement can be made by contacting John Murphy (jmurphy@pitt.edu) prior to the event.
