Extracellular matrices (ECMs) can be combined with synthetic materials to modulate various physical properties.  The Badylak Laboratory has worked with Dr. William Wagner and his laboratory (which is adjacent) to combine poly(ester-urethane)urea (PEUU) with Urinary Bladder Matrix (UBM) to produce scaffold a scaffold with desirable strength, elasticity, and bioinductive properties.
