Production of Scaffold Materials: gels

Particulate extracellular matrices (ECMs) can be enzymatically digested and then repolymerized into a gel form. These ECM gels have been shown to retain their bioactivity as measured by both chemotactic and mitogenic assays. One of the major advantages of this physical form is that it can be injected by minimally invasive techniques into the site of injury.
